A family that Lies. The scandals were endless. The lies where everywhere but a message was told in this book. This book exposed hypocrisy in every form and misplaced anger on so many levels. I do not give spoilers so you have to read it f or yourself.

Y'all should read this. It is very good!!This was a very very good story. Omg my heart aches at some of the things that went on in this book. These sisters here!!!. It took a lot for Mercy to forgive Grace. Grace was the two gooder that never did anything wrong!! Sike!! She was sneaky and her deeds caught up to her but she didn't deserve the things that happened to her.. I'm glad that Mercy did get her happiness though!!.

What you do in the dark....Always comes to light. It sounds so cliche but it's true... even in books. The Anderson family was interesting to say the least. I had mixed feelings about each sister that kinda flip flopped back and forth throughout the story but my feelings on their parents never changed. They were HORRIBLE and weak. All in all it was a good read.My name is K Sherrie,And I recommend this read.#4Stars. #ReviewsByKSherrie #SODCBRead #2017 #TheFamilyThatLies #LakishaJohnson #LaquichaRucker

Saved by Merci! This is my 3rd read from Author. I couldn't put this book down in fear I might not be able to pick back up! To say I wish there were a part 2 would be selfish, lol.. I can't tell you or express how the characters made me feel apart of them as if they were real family. I enjoyed Merck's character so much that I found a lot of me in her as well as Grayce. This book have me pondering a lot on beliefs and the way families keep to any secrets!!!

Yes, this was a great book to read. It's amazing what families do to hide their lies from others.I went through a familiar situation in my life. But at the end , the truth win's . I hope Lakisha Johnson write a follow up book to this great story. I see a book series in the future. I will be following her now here on Goodreads and Amazon.

Oh my!Two sisters; a family with loots of secrets. I read this book from start to finish. Although I don't like when the characters prayers are written (I'm not a heathen, just don't like to read it), the storyline was great. The final mystery was perfect. Can't wait to read more from this author. KUDOS!!☺

I loved it This book was great. It was also sad, but still a good read. I read it in one day, and hated Melvin the girls father, or should I say Grace’s father.

Actual rating 4.5 starsI usually don’t read books laced with Christian undertones, but I must admit, I was thoroughly impressed by the story Lakisha & Laquisha told. This book delved into a heart-wrenching tale of family secrets that have been submersed and preserved until they literally imploded. It shows well and true that what you do when you think no one is looking, will always catch up to you (the lies -so many lies- and secrets this family kept were ridiculous). It touched on issues such as abuse, infidelity, and deceit. It told how forgiveness was key in moving forward in life.Merci and Grayce, daughters of a renowned pastor and born less than 18 months apart, grew distant after Merci grew tired of being the scapegoat for the woes of a family that didn’t seem to love her anymore. No matter her success in life, she just never seemed good enough. Her sister, Grayce was heralded as the “good sister” and their parents constantly compared them, regardless of the fact that it was completely unfounded. I can’t say too much without giving spoilers, but Grayce . . . WOW. Do not judge a book by its cover! My heart went out to Merci, but I was so very proud of her inner strength. While the book, did have the typical hypocrites, I liked that it was told through the eyes of the one being hypocritical instead of just pointing out what others were doing wrong. It showed the internal struggle the sisters faced and it showcased that forgiveness was key in addressing the issues that this family faced. This book was XXX rated (and boy did they have some potty mouths)!!! That was unexpected, but quite enjoyable! I didn’t like that the prologue told me what was going to happen in the end, but I was happy they left the assailant’s identity out. Overall, it was a very good read and I’d recommend it to others.

I got sick during the time I started this book, so it's taken me longer than usual to complete. When I tell you I cried like baby reading this book, that is an understatement. This book is the pure definition of "Life Happens". Blaming others, treating people harshly, and holding on to things we have no control over can leave you broken. Merci, one of the main characters, chose to forgive and let go. I won't write any spoilers but I will say, this is one to add to your collection. Kudos to the authors!!!! Please support them by purchasing their brilliant creative work and telling a friend or two. You won't be disappointed!

Refreshing!!It's always refreshing to read Christian stories because we get to fully see just how much we struggle day by day to be better Christians and yet we fall short simply because we're human. I disliked so much how Mr. Alexander treated Merci and I knew early on that he had to have found out she wasn't his for him to change so suddenly. Never put your kids on a pedestal and think they won't do sinful things....Grayce was put so high but actually was the one who was living a double life than what her parents thought. I didn't think she'd get beat to death but was glad at least one baby survived. So happy for Merci....her strength endured in the end.....

Whoa!!!!!!!!!Wow! I saw this book as a sponsored ad on instagram. And when I read the summary I was really interested. I'm glad it popped up because it was really good. Lots of twist and turns. Merci had been hurt and wronged by the people who were supposed to be her protectors but sometimes all you have is you. And when you least expect it God will bring what you need right to you. This was an excellent book from beginning to end and I have no problem recommending this book to others.

This was a great story of family, secrets that destroy, forgiveness and the power of God. Merci and Grayce are sisters who start out with Merci holding a gridge against her sister yet allowing her to live with her. Their father who is a pator dotes on one child and hates the other due to a secret that should never be blamed on a child. This book had my emotions all over the place but through that love prevailed and I was happy to see that.
